Itinerary

Day 1 | Arrival in Chengdu

Arrive in Chengdu and make your way to the hotel for check-in.

The rest of the day is free for you to relax or explore Chengdu at your own pace. You may choose to enjoy local Sichuan cuisine, visit nearby shopping streets, or simply rest after your journey.

Overnight: Chengdu


Day 2 | Chengdu – Mount Emei Golden Summit

After breakfast at the hotel, depart from Chengdu and drive to Mount Emei. The journey takes approximately 2.5 hours.

Upon arrival, lunch is at your own expense. After lunch, take the scenic area sightseeing shuttle bus up the mountain to Leidongping. From there, walk approximately 1.5 km to Jieyin Hall. Along the way, you may pass through an area where wild monkeys are often seen. Please keep a safe distance and do not feed or tease the monkeys.

Continue by cable car to the Golden Summit, one of the most iconic highlights of Mount Emei. Visit the impressive Ten-Faced Samantabhadra Statue, Huazang Temple, Woyun Nunnery, Jingangzui, and Sheshen Cliff. On clear days, you may enjoy distant views of Mount Gongga. With a little luck, you may also witness the rare “Buddha’s Light” phenomenon.

After visiting the Golden Summit, take the cable car down and return to Leidongping by the same route. Then take the sightseeing shuttle bus to the mid-mountain area and check in at your hotel.

Day 3 | Mount Emei – Leshan Giant Buddha – Chengdu

After breakfast at the hotel, take the cable car up to Wannian Cable Car Station and walk to Wannian Temple, an important temple dedicated to Samantabhadra Bodhisattva. Inside the temple, see the famous bronze Samantabhadra statue, one of Mount Emei’s treasured cultural relics.

Continue downhill to visit Bailong Cave, Qingyin Pavilion, Qingyin Lake, Heilongjiang Plank Road, One-Line Sky, and the Natural Ecological Monkey Zone.

Please note that Heilongjiang Plank Road, One-Line Sky, and the Natural Ecological Monkey Zone are located in a special scenic section. Guests may need to visit this area independently, and the itinerary may be adjusted depending on time, weather, crowd levels, and physical condition. If time is limited, some sections may be skipped.

Lunch is at your own expense. After lunch, drive to Leshan and visit the Leshan Giant Buddha Scenic Area. Walk through the scenic area and admire the majestic Maitreya Buddha carved into the cliffside during the Tang Dynasty. Standing 71 meters tall, the Leshan Giant Buddha is a remarkable symbol of Buddhist culture and ancient craftsmanship.

After the visit, return to Chengdu and check in at your hotel.

Day 4 | Dujiangyan Irrigation System & Mount Qingcheng

After breakfast, depart around 07:00 for Dujiangyan Scenic Area, a national 5A attraction and UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Explore the Dujiangyan Irrigation System, built by Li Bing during the Qin period over 2,000 years ago. This ancient water management project is still in use today and is considered one of the greatest engineering achievements in Chinese history. Visit major landmarks including Bottle-Neck Channel, Flying Sand Weir, Fish Mouth Levee, Anlan Suspension Bridge, Qinyan Tower, and Erwang Temple, which commemorates Li Bing and his son.

Lunch is at your own expense.

Around 13:00, continue to Mount Qingcheng, one of China’s most important Taoist mountains and another UNESCO World Heritage Site. Known for its quiet beauty, lush forests, and peaceful atmosphere, Mount Qingcheng has long been admired for its deep mountain scenery and Taoist culture.

Take the sightseeing shuttle bus to the entrance of the scenic area, then continue by cable car toward Shangqing Palace. Visit highlights such as Shangqing Palace, Laojun Pavilion, Moon City Lake, Wudongtian, Yuanming Palace, and Jianfu Palace. Along the way, enjoy ancient paths, tranquil forests, mountain views, and Taoist temples from different historical periods.

Around 17:00, return to Chengdu and transfer back to your hotel.

Day 5 | Chengdu Departure

After breakfast at the hotel, enjoy free time until your departure.

Depending on your flight or train schedule, make your own way or arrange a transfer to the airport or railway station. Your 5-day Sichuan journey ends with memorable experiences of sacred mountains, ancient temples, giant Buddha carvings, and world-renowned heritage sites.
